Well, it is somewhere between June 1908 and 1931 in the downtown shopping area. We know this because of the trolley heading toward Auburn on the Auburn and Northern line. I would guess that this is earlier based on the horse drawn wagons and the lack of cars. The trolley has just left the station which connected the A and N with the Rochester, Syracuse and Eastern fast line.
Want to do some shopping? To the very right is Crane’s Department Store. They sell Dry-Goods, Carpets, Furniture, Boots, Shoes and Rubber Goods. Down the street is the Tobacco seller, and someone selling Ice Cream. Maybe you need a Lunch, at the Park Hotel? For a nice refreshing drink, step across the street to the folks selling Ice Cream and Soda Water.
Down by the church is the bridge over the Erie Canal. If you look, you can see the bridge work in the trees.
During our next post, we will get a better look at the west side of the street.
