I I am told that the man with the glasses is Dave Van Scoy and that Lena and Lester Ohara are also in the top photo. But no one seems to know the men in the bottom photo. No one could decide if they were police or firemen.

This ad was taken from the Port Byron Chronicle, November 27, 1915. I certainly hope that this was not Foster’s store, but rather a nice place for a sign.This photo is looking at the southwest corner of Routes 38 and 31, or where the Pit Stop is today.

It is hard to see, but the caption says “View at Hayden’s”, which would mean that this is now Rt 38 looking to the south, or towards Auburn. Hayden Road would be just behind us. The old highway is still there, although it now serves as a driveway....
